Zodi, 12, lives in the desert with his tribe, befriends Julia the vet and doesn't like going to school much. The boy's life is turned upside down when he discovers an orphaned camel baby. And so a surprising friendship is born; it soon becomes a threat: the local poacher, Tarek, wants to make money off the young camel, as it has turned out to be an exceptional runner and could win many competitions.To save his camel, Zodi embarks on a perilous journey across the Sahara. They're in for plenty of danger - clashes with bandits, sandstorms and salt sea - and a big goal on the horizon: to take part in the legendary Abu Dhabi camel race.
